Inclement Weather

Cancellation of school:

When there is inclement weather every attempt will be made to make a decision about our school schedule as early as possible. Our goal is to make the most appropriate decision for our students and staff based on safety and accessibility.

When Portland Public Schools in our area have a morning delay, we will automatically open at 9:30am. Doing this will allow our classes to take place in an abbreviated form, and our afternoon programs (Explorers and enrichment classes) to take place in their entirety.

If Portland Public Schools are closed, we will either be open at 9:30 or be closed. We will make our determination regarding school closure based on safety and accessibility for families and staff. We will post our decision on our web page, local TV and radio.

Early Dismissal:

If weather conditions require early dismissal from class and/or after care we will contact you by phone, e-mail, Childswork website and TV. Please make sure your emergency form always has current information.
