Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes are an opportunity for children to spend more time investigating a particular subject. Fall, winter and spring sessions are offered each year; each session is approximately 10 weeks long.
Please note that additional descriptions for the 2012-13 school year class offerings will be provided shortly.
To reserve your spot for next year, fill out an Enrichment Registration Form. Childswork typically offers the following Enrichment Programs throughout the year:
Clay Studio Workshop
Fridays........1:00 - 3:00pm
The clay studio provides an opportunity for children to explore what clay can do. Through
playful provocations, children will construct a foundational understanding of clay building,
as well as gain familiarity with various tool for working with clay.
Cooking Exploration
Tuesdays........1:00 - 3:00pm
Cooking provides an opportunity for students to build a foundation of basic cooking and food
preparation, terms and skills. Students, through hands on curriculum will gain an understanding and appreciation for making snacks and meals.
Fun and Fitness Exploration
Wednesdays........1:00 - 3:00pm
Fun and Fitness provides an opportunity for students ages four and up to develop basic competency in fundamental motor skills for games, sports and physical activity.
Music & Movement Around the World
Mondays......1:00 - 3:00 pm
This class provides an opportunity for students to build a foundation of basic music appreciation and skills. Students, through hands on curriculum will gain an understanding of musical diversity found throughout several cultures.
Musical Theater
Wednesdays......1:00 - 3:00 pm
Musical Theater provides students an opportunity to explore music and play-acting through singing, dramatic play, expressive movement and art activities. Students will also be introduced to a variety of instruments, and have the chance to create their own!
Spanish Exploration
Mondays.......1:00-3:00 pm
Thursdays.......1:00-3:00 pm
This class provides an opportunity for students to build a foundation of basic Spanish language comprehension and speaking, and to build an understanding of cultural diversity within a curriculum that explores various Spanish-speaking cultures.
Exploring Nature Through Art
Thursdays......1:00-3:00 pm
Exploring Nature Through Art provides an opportunity to explore the natural world with various art media. Investigate animals, environments, plants and more through drawing, painting, collage, clay and other materials.
Imagination Yoga
Tuesdays......1:00-3:00pm
Imagination Yoga is an opportunity for all people to engage their bodies and minds through the art of storytelling. We will learn 15 different yoga poses and practice applying our kind hearts, kind words and kind thoughts as we move together.
