Each Child is assigned a cubby at the beginning of the year. Your child’s daily work and projects, etc. will be placed in his or her cubby. Please be sure to help remind your child to check his or her cubby each day. A backpack for your child is very useful and helps your child learn to be organized. Please remember to label it with your child’s name.
Each classroom has a Family Communication File Box, with a file folder labeled for each classroom family, and a file folder labeled for teacher(s). All communications and correspondences from the school or the teacher to families will be located in this file box. Any information that the teacher requires from families may be placed in the teacher(s)’ folder. Please ask your teacher where the box is located, and check it daily. If you car pool, please do not pick up correspondence for the other parents in your carpool.
Family Bulletin Boards are located by each classroom. Schedules, announcements, newsletters, and much more will be posted there. There are also Community Bulletin Boards for community news and information sharing that families are welcome to use. They are located near the entrances at all sites.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled in November and February, and are an important part of the school year. Please be assured that the teacher will contact you immediately if any issues arise that need your attention. (There should be no surprises at conferences.) Likewise, should any questions or concerns arise during the course of the year, please contact your child’s teacher as soon as possible by phone or in person. Conferences can be scheduled with the teacher and/or director at any time. Direct communication eliminates confusion and facilitates problem solving.

Community Voice Meetings give opportunities for families to voice concern, raise a question, put forth a comment, or present an issue to the Childswork staff, and the group, for discussion. There will be no set agenda. If you feel that you have concerns, questions, comments, or issues, and would like to discuss them in this type of informal setting, please come! All are welcome! One-hour meetings will be held several times throughout the year. Meeting times will be published in the school's newsletter, and posted on community bulletin boards.
