Classroom Representatives

Being a classroom representative is a fun and rewarding way to help at the classroom level, and to connect with the families in your class.  Classroom Representatives are adults from each classroom that assist their teachers as needed and foster information sharing and communication amongst classroom families.  Ideally there will be more than one classroom representative for each class.  The teacher and classroom representatives will work together to define the representatives' roles, however, suggested duties include:

  • Helping to organize three class potlucks throughout the year

  • Helping to create a phone tree for the class

  • Helping to maintain a section of the classroom bulletin board for families

  • Helping to organize two classroom cleanings throughout the year

Other opportunities might include
  • Helping the committees to disseminate information to families

  • Helping to provide information from your class to the monthly school newsletter
