Garden News Winter 2017

January is a great time to start planning and plotting our gardens for Spring planting. We will plant a range of veggies, herbs and flowers. In February, we will start planting seeds for starts to watch grow over the month and into March. For some children, this is their first time planting a seed by themselves. Sometimes the seed grows…and sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, there will be lots to learn and talk about.

Our Winter Garden Work Party will be Saturday, February 11th. At this event, we will till our cover crops into the soil to make nutritious and delicious homes for Spring plants. We will also build new dig bins for our playground. This event is open to any and all; adults and children. It will happen in rain or shine, and we will have light snacks and fruit available. Lastly, please feel free to come for as little or as long and you would like. We are happy for your participation and appreciate your help in keeping our school beautiful.

Thanks,

April Stephens
