Registration for Childswork Summer Camp 2020 opening soon!

Read on for everything you need to know about signing up for Childwork’s summer camps for 3-6 year old children! Summer camp runs for ten weeks, from June 15 to August 21.

Summer camp registration will open to the general public on Monday, April 27: a public link to our online summer camp registration form will be posted here, on the front page of our website. Currently, Summer Camps are on HOLD. We are optimistic that we will be allowed to open for at least part of the summer if not all, and are proceeding with registration to ensure staffing. We will update this website with further information as we get it - please continue to check in here!

We will have five different "themes" over the summer that children and teachers will explore together:

Weeks 1 & 2, June 15 - 26: Wonder Art Workshop
In this two week session, we will be exploring the endless possibilities of ART! We plan on having many creative child-led offerings and experiences that nurture imagination, curiosity, and a love of learning! Using paints, paper, natural materials, recycled materials, and anything else we wonder about, we will create a world where anything is possible!

Weeks 3* & 4, June 29 - July 10: Tinkerlab! Hands-on Building
In this two week session, our summer campers will need to put on their goggles and hard hats, because each classroom will be a construction zone! We will supply recycled materials, woodworking tools, variations of blocks and boxes to build whatever we can dream of! This session encourages tinkering, inventing, creative thinking, and wonder!

Week 5 & 6, July 13 - 24: Tell Me a Story! Storytelling and Book-making
Everything has a story, and in this session we want to use our imaginations to transport ourselves to other worlds through storytelling! We will use the campers as guides to find the best way for them to tell their stories. We will have plenty of books for inspiration, and have daily story tables with characters and settings. This week could lead us to puppet theater, book making, story dictation, or acting out stories with costumes and props. With our imaginations, anything is possible!

Weeks 7 & 8, July 27 - August 7: A Journey Through Outer Space
We have two weeks to explore the Earth and the planets beyond! We will have opportunities for wondering about Space, and to learn about stars, planets, and galaxies! And hopefully we have some astronauts coming to this session of camp, because there might be a rocket ship to build and a new planet to explore!

Weeks 9 & 10, August 10 - 24: Water and Ocean Exploration
In our last session of summer camp, we wanted to offer an exciting option to beat the heat! Prepare to bring your bathing suit, a change of clothes, and a towel because the sprinkler will be ready to rock every day during outdoor time! When we are inside, we will have many liquid sensory activities, as well as books about the ocean, and all of the marvelous creatures that live in the deep sea.

Camp runs from 9 AM - 12 PM each week, with the following schedule options and costs. You are free to choose whichever schedule works for you on each of the weeks you sign up for:

  • 5-day (Monday-Friday), $180
  • 3-day (Monday/Wednesday/Friday), $120
  • 2-day (Tuesday/Thursday), $80

*On Week 3, we offer a special 4-day schedule (Monday-Thursday) for $160, as well as a 2-day option (Tuesday/Thursday ONLY.) Camp will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence day.

You may extend your camp day with our before- and after-care program, known as Explorers. Explorers is billed at a rate of $10 per hour, with set pick-up times of 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM, and a drop-off time of 8 AM. Occasionally, families may need to extend their day, and request additional Explorers on that same day. This is considered drop-in care, and is billed at $15 per hour. Drop-in care is not guaranteed, and dependent on availability.

To help you plan your summer camp schedule and costs, please feel free to use the worksheet attached here. Note that this worksheet is NOT accepted for registration: in order to register, you must fill out our online summer camp registration form when it becomes available.

When you submit your registration, Childswork requires a non-refundable $103 deposit ($100 deposit + $3 PayPal processing fee) to secure your spot for each child registered. Your $100 deposit will be applied toward the total cost of your Summer Camp bill, and the remaining balance will be billed once your schedule is confirmed.
