Childswork Learning Center is a non-profit early childhood education school located in Southeast Portland, Oregon. Since 1984, our school has served a diverse population of children and families, focusing on the development of the whole child with respect and compassion.
Childswork is a safe place for children to explore, take chances, make messes and learn through play. At Childswork we nurture wonder, we embrace joy, and we foster discovery.
No person shall be denied the services or facilities of this organization or be excluded from participation or services because of race, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, creed, religion, handicap, or national origin; discrimination of any kind is expressly prohibited.
We are happy to announce that registration is now open for our Summer Camp program! Childswork offers 10 one-week camps during the summer months. Each week provides a different possibility for exploration, investigation and discovery and campers can attend two (T/Th), three (MWF) or five days a week. Camps are held from 9am to 12pm daily and can be combined with the Explorers program to extend the day. You do not need to be a current Childswork student to attend. All campers ages 3-6 are welcome!
Registration forms can be printed here (PDF), or picked up from the Main Office.
Childswork is happy to launch a special promotion with My Pretty Monsters, where our own Childswork parent, Jen Watson, works! My Pretty Monsters is offering Childswork families a special price on their monsters and bags for a limited time. See the display in our main office of how your child's drawing can be transformed into a stuffed creation or a bag. My Pretty Monsters is going to give Childswork parents a discount of $15 dollars off their regular retail price of $75 on each item purchased, as well as donate 10% of all their proceeds from this promotion to Childswork! Plus, you save on shipping since your purchased items will be delivered for free to Childswork. Please see the attached flyer (PDF) and order form (PDF) for more information. Order forms can also be picked up in the Childswork office.
We still have a few spots left in our Kindergarten program for the fall! Childswork's Kindergarten program extends our emergent curriculum and philosophy with kindergarten-level academics. Children will learn about reading, writing, math, art, music and science through individual and group investigations of topics that interest them. Our kindergarten program ensures a very low teacher to student ratio.
A big heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this year's auction a great success as a wonderful evening of fun and community and a fantastic fundraiser for our Scholarship program and classrooms. Teachers, parents, volunteers, friends of Childswork families all joined together to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
